There are so many reasons why I fell in love with Sydnee and Nick from our first conversations and through their engagement shoot. They wanted to bring their dog for one, but I think what really hooked me on this rad couple was when Sydnee told me they wanted to get in the water at some point during their session.. heck. freaking. YAAS!

Sydnee and Nick are high school sweethearts, Oceanside locals, and both so obviously head over heels for each other. Nothing excites me more as a photographer when I can feel the chemistry and emotion radiate between a couple. Give me some great light and a couple with google eyes for each other and we’ve got a magical shoot!

We started our golden hour session in north county San Diego at one of my favorite Carlsbad locations, Host Grove Trailhead. With the last bit of sun poking through the eucalyptus trees, they held on to each other, snuggled up, danced, laughed, and hopped around the brush. Then we headed down to my neighborhood lagoon which was covered, and I mean COVERED, in small sand crabs. Syndee and Nick hopped through the teeny crabs and went for a summer night swim.

This couple has got to be one of my favorites yet! I cannot wait until their Spring wedding in the San Diego Botanical Gardens. Take a look at some of my favorites below or check more from the session and check out more from the gallery here.
